“The King of Twang!” —Guitar Player Magazine
Latin Grammy-winning guitarist/composer/performer Twanguero (Diego Garcia) is considered by many to be one of the finest guitarists in Spain. Renowned for his fingerpicking style, incredible versatility, and distinctive ‘twang’ sound, his music is an unusual fusion of classical Spanish guitar, flamenco, Latin rhythms, country, rockabilly, jazz, and even surf music!
Twanguero’s performances are mesmerizing. Classically trained at the acclaimed Conservatory of Valencia from the age of 6, he studied with Jose Lazaro, a former student of the great flamenco guitarist, Andres Segovia. He honed what is now his trademark style while playing and recording with such Latin music giants as El Cigala, Bunbury, Merche Crisco, Andres Calamaro and others. After years of touring the world with their various groups, Twanguero launched his solo career and has toured the world since, releasing numerous award-winning albums and using his guitar as “a little orchestra” — successfully creating a musical bridge between the two worlds of contemporary North American electrified guitar and the traditional Spanish/European melodic style.
