Join us for a free community festival celebrating the opening of our 2023 Marcus Exhbition!
Take Time features works by four artists who provide participatory experiences in which Montalvo visitors may lose track of time and discover the joy of engagement and creative contemplation. Exhibiting artists Carole Kim, Akiko Yamashita, Inez Storer, and Corinne Okada Takara are exploring themes of care and rebuilding, joy and ancestry, creation and sustainable innovation. As Montalvo continues to foster a sense of community and a welcoming environment where all people can find enrichment through the arts, this summer visitors can gather, participate, and find their own sense of joy and belonging in the works presented on our grounds.
The Marcus Exhibition will open with a festival on Friday, July 21, offering a free public celebration featuring DJs, participatory performances, and works from our local community of creators.
