Join us for a panel conversation with Stephanie Dinkins and collaborators Neta Bomani, Coleman Collins, Romi Morrison, and Errol King, as they discuss their work with AI.Assembly, an ongoing series of intimate, exploratory encounters addressing the question, “What does AI need from you?”
The aim of AI.Assembly is to consider emerging technologies that have disproportionate impacts on the trajectory of society, threatening people of color with deeply embedded iterations of the discriminations and injustices already faced. Together, participants consider the current state of affairs and look for, create and model new ways to intercede. With the support of the Andy Warhol Foundation, Dinkins has gathered a group of artists to take over the residency for the month of August. While at Montalvo, AI.Assembly will pay particular attention to disenfranchised communities participating in the creation and governance of emergent technologies poised to impact most human endeavors. AI.Assembly seeks to foster collaboration and build a support network among practitioners engaged in this work. Learn more about the coLAB here.
This evening’s conversation will be a view into the group's process of inquiry. This conversation will begin at 7pm and be followed by Q&A with the artists. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
