Summer Arts Camp • Ages 8–14 • June 24–28, 9am–4pm
Surrounded by nature and art, aspiring artists will gradually reveal sculptural forms from blocks of plaster, foam, and clay by using both additive and subtractive processes. During this one-week camp, students will learn how to build and layer materials to make simple-to-complex three-dimensional forms and shapes. As they selectively add and remove, campers will master their carving and cutting skills and create original works of art; by the end of their experience, they will come away with an array of sculptures to present for their final exhibition. Family and friends will be invited to an informal camp showcase on Friday, June 28. All materials and supplies included with camp fee.
As a part of their Montalvo Arts Center experience, all summer campers will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the native plants and animals around the property and its Santa Clara County Park trails.
