“His music radiates soulful Louisiana blues, but his songs blend those influences with raucous rock 'n' roll to create unique and infectious music” —NPR
Marc Broussard is an artist with a unique gift for channeling the spirits of classic R&B, rock, and soul into contemporary terms. His father, Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist Ted Broussard of “The Boogie Kings,” nurtured his musical talent at an early age—and the vibrant Lafayette, Louisiana music scene gave Broussard the opportunity to practice his craft consistently from childhood through early adulthood.
After releasing a successful independent EP at age 20, Broussard signed a record deal with Island Records and made his major-label debut with Carencro. The album featured the hit “Home,” which gained large success on radio and catapulted him into the national spotlight. Broussard’s incomparable brand of soul—an infectious mix of rock, blues, R&B, funk-pop, and soul coupled with his powerful vocals—has garnered worldwide praise from critics and fans alike. After multiple successful album releases, he teamed up with Blues titan Joe Bonamassa to release S.O.S. 4: Blues For Your Soul, a Blues cover record benefitting Bonamassa’s charitable foundation.
For this unmissable show, Broussard will be playing Carencro front to back—and also sprinkle in some of his fan-favorite cover songs from his S.O.S. series along the way!
Opening for Marc Broussard is Sway Wild, the San Juan Island, WA-based indie folk-rock duo of Mandy Fer and Dave McGraw.
Their exceptional vocal harmonies, coupled with Fer’s pioneering electric guitar work, have become a vehicle to carry them around the world, sharing stages with the likes of Iron & Wine, Lake Street Dive, and Watchhouse. Sway Wild’s infectious sound explores the corners of rock, pop, funk, worldbeat, and folk, but at its nucleus it is undeniably a music full of joy. It can squeeze the heart in your chest, it can draw tears from your eyes, and it can force you to get up and move your body; over and over, it somehow manages to do all three at once. Mandy Fer also tours as the lead guitarist for Amos Lee and Allison Russell and has recently performed with Brandi Carlile.
