Be inspired by the universal language of dance!

Journey through an evolution of international dance styles with captivating dancers Aditi Bhagwat and Mizuho Sato, accompanied by saxophonist George Brooks, as they weave together the storytelling elegance of Indian Kathak, the vibrant flair of Maharashtrian Lavani, and the soul-stirring passion of Flamenco, with the improvisational spirit of contemporary jazz. This unique performance promises a dynamic exploration of movement, rhythm, and the universal language of dance.

Aditi Bhagwat began her journey into Indian classical dance at age 4, learning Jaipur Kathak from several masters of the form. Once she established a foothold in these traditions, she started experimenting, fusing these dances with the sounds of jazz and world music. In 2012, she was awarded a fellowship with the international musical residency program OneBeat, where she continued her cross-cultural collaborations. Today, she blends Kathak tradition with styles from around the globe, captivating audiences from the USA to India to Europe and beyond.

Mizuho Sato studied classical ballet in Japan before moving to Spain and expanding her repertoire to include Flamenco. Over the next two decades, she perfected her craft, performing worldwide, teaching extensively, and eventually founding her own flamenco company in San Francisco. Beyond dance, she's a painter, singer, and cajón player, infusing her performances with diverse influences. With a commitment to tradition and innovation, she continues to evolve, inspiring others to embrace life through the ancient art form of flamenco.

George Brooks is an award-winning saxophonist and composer, acclaimed for successfully bridging the worlds of jazz and Indian classical music. Brooks is the founder of several seminal Indian fusion groups and is a celebrated performer who has collaborated with Zakir Hussain Hariprasad Chaurasia, Terry Riley Etta James, Anthony Braxton, Jaki Byard, Talvin Singh, Kronos Quartet, The Temptations, Michael McClure, and Ray Manzarek.
