Performing Arts Series for Students: New Ballet presents Swan Lake

New Ballet
Performing Arts Series for Students
New Ballet presents excerpts from Swan Lake
and contemporary ballet premieres

New Ballet is the institution that San Jose and Silicon Valley looks to for excellence in the art of ballet. New Ballet’s professional company performs a full season in downtown San Jose, including The San Jose Nutcracker, Fast Forward, and a full-length story ballet every spring. Metro Silicon Valley calls New Ballet, “easily the area’s leading ballet organization.” Their mission is to experience the art of ballet with our full Bay Area community and to share our belief that ballet is for everyone.

At the Carriage House Theatre, artists of New Ballet will showcase excerpts from Swan Lake, ballet’s most beloved tragedy featuring enchanted swans, a noble prince, and an evil magician. Performed to the iconic score by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, this timeless ballet will enchant and delight. In addition, the program will feature selected works from the Fast Forward program, a fast-paced series of world-premiere contemporary ballets to debut at the Hammer Theatre Center in San Jose in late March 2025. See these cutting-edge works before their public premiere and discover the thrill of artistic experimentation. Hosted by the organization’s founder and Artistic Director, these works will be presented along with information about their history, what inspired the choreography, and the themes behind them.

Each one-hour performance includes a 10–15 minute Q&A session from the stage.

Scholarships/subsidies are available to qualifying schools and educators: Click here to apply.
