Unlocking Learning through Drumming
Drumming is one of the most fundamental forms of creative human expression and integral to every culture. In the 1920s, the Orff method was developed as a way to release creativity and foster musicianship through experiential understanding of rhythm, melody, and phrasing. Together, these disciplines can create a learning environment that encourages participants to take risks, stretch, collaborate, and explore. This workshop will introduce percussion, Japanese Taiko, and Orff activities, as well as strategies that can be adapted across learning levels and artistic disciplines to build environments where learners can unlock their full potential.
