The Fratello Marionettes has produced timeless marionette shows since 1989. This production of Peter and the Wolf is set to the majestic Prokofiev score, designed to introduce children to classical music and the individual instruments within the orchestra. Visit the Russian forest home of Peter and his grandfather, meeting a host of animal friends, exploring the outdoors and listening to the debate between the bird and the duck. Learn from his grandfather that warns him of the dangers of the wolf and how the hunters capture the wolf.
All puppets featured are conceptualized and built by the puppeteers themselves. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, The Fratello Marionettes perform globally. Founder and Puppeteer Kevin Menegus brings classic stories and vignettes to life through hand-crafted marionettes. He became intrigued by puppetry at age six, when gifted a puppet. He apprenticed with some of the leading puppeteers in the country, including Tony Urbano and Lewis Mahlmann. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of The Pacific Conservatory of Music.
Each one-hour performance includes a 10–15 minute Q&A session from the stage.
