Bakersfield Mist & Backfire
PLAY ON THE GROUNDS
A series of outdoor staged readings that focuses on essential storytelling through performers and text, with minimal staging.
ABOUT THIS SHOW
Join us for an intimate and dynamic night of theatre as two actors take on two very different worlds in this double feature of one-act plays.
Bakersfield Mist introduces us to Maude, a fifty something unemployed bartender living in a trailer park who bought a painting for a few bucks from a thrift store. She’s now convinced it’s a lost masterpiece by Jackson Pollock worth millions. But when a world art-expert arrives from New York to authenticate the painting he has no idea what he is about to discover! Inspired by true events!
Backfire gives us Jimmy and Amy reconnecting after their 30-year high school reunion/ As sparks fly as they reminisce about their past feelings, what starts as a romantic reunion takes an unexpected turn, revealing a slight misunderstanding with big consequences.
